Baladeepthi, the children’s wing of Syro Malabar Cultural Association (SMCA)- Kuwait, was inaugurated by Archbishop Mar Joseph Powathill during his visit to Kuwait in early 1997. The importance and the objectives of Baladeepthi are stated in its by-law, by quoting Second Vatican Council on Laity Apostolate (Apostolicam actuositatem, N.12). They are,
(1) Uphold, enhance and maintain Syro Malabar Catholic faith, traditions and culture among Baladeepthi members;
(2) Orient the children towards their origin and traditions and religious background of Syro Malabar Community to the apostolic beginning and traditions, with a proper orientation to their ecclesial call to live as a good Syro Malabar Catholic;
(3) Develop and promote organizational, educational, social, cultural and spiritual talents of Baladeepthi members.
Baladeepthi’s by-law was passed by the general body of SMCA and is published as an annexure of SMCA By-law. Children of SMCA Active Members and SMCA Associate Members, studying in Kuwait, are the members of Baladeepthi. It has a three layer administrative system –zonal, area and central. At each level, a committee member of SMCA, designated as baladeepthi coordinator, is assigned to coordinate and supervise the Baladeepthi activities.

SMCAയുടെ കുട്ടികളുടെ വിഭാഗമായ ബാലദീപ്തി, 1997ൽ കുവൈറ്റ് സന്ദർശിച്ച ചങ്ങനാശേരി ആർച്ബിഷപ്പ് മാർ ജോസഫ് പൗവത്തിൽ ഉൽഘാടനം ചെയ്തു. രണ്ടാം വത്തിക്കാൻ കൗണ്സിലിന്റെ അല്മായരുടെ അപോസ്ടോലറ്റിനെ സംബന്ധിച്ച ഡിക്രി (Apostolicam Actuositatem, N.12) ഉദ്ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാണ് ബാലദീപ്തിയുടെ നിയമാവലിയിൽ അതിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യവും പ്രവർത്തന ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. അവ ഇപ്രകാരമാണ്.
(1)ബാലദീപ്തിയംഗങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ സീറോമലബാർ കത്തോലിക്കാ വിശ്വാസം, പാരമ്പര്യം, സാംസ്കാരിക തനിമ എന്നിവ ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിക്കുക, പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുക പിഞ്ചൊല്ലുക;
(2) നല്ല സീറോ മലബാർ കാത്തോലിക്കാനായി ജീവിക്കുവാനുള്ള ആഭിമുഖ്യം ഉണർത്തുന്നതിനു സമുദായ ചരിത്രം, പാരമ്പര്യം, അദ്ധ്യാൽമികത എന്നിവ സംബന്ധിച്ച് ഉൽബോധനം നൽകുക;
(3) ബാലദീപ്തി അംഗങ്ങളുടെ നേതൃത്വപരവും, വിദ്യാഭ്യാസപരവും സാമൂഹികവും സാംസ്കാരികവും അദ്ധ്യാൽമികവുമായ കഴിവുകളെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുക SMCA യുടെ പൊതുയോഗം അംഗീകരിച്ച സ്വതന്ത്രമായ ഒരു ഭരണഘടന അനുസരിച്ചാണ് ബാലദീപ്തി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത്. ഇത് SMCA നിയമാവലിക്ക് ഒരു അനുബന്ധമായി പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. SMCA സജ്ജീവാംഗങ്ങളുടെയും അസ്സോസിയേറ്റ് അംഗങ്ങളുടെയും കുവൈറ്റിൽ പഠിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന കുട്ടികൾ ആണ് ബാലദീപ്തിയുടെ അംഗങ്ങൾ. നിയമാവലിയനുസരിച്ചു തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെടുന്ന കേന്ദ്ര, ഏരിയ, സോണൽ ത്രിതല ഭരണ സംവിധാനം ആണ് ബാലദീപ്തി പിഞ്ചൊല്ലുന്നത്. ഓരോ തലത്തിലും ബാലദീപ്തി കോഓർഡിനേറ്റർ എന്ന സ്ഥാനം വഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഒരു SMCAകമ്മിറ്റിഅംഗം പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ ഏകോപിപ്പിക്കുകയും മേൽനോട്ടം വഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
